Lifelong Johnstown resident and former Mayor Pro Tem Gary Lebsack was sworn into office as Mayor of the Town of Johnstown during last night’s Town Council meeting. Town Clerk Diana Seele administered the Oath of Office. Mayor Lebsack replaces former Mayor Scott K. James, who is now serving as Weld County Commissioner from District 2.

Councilmember Chad Young was appointed to the Mayor Pro Tem position by a vote from Town Council and will preside over meetings in the absence of Mayor Lebsack.

Water rates in Johnstown increase in 2019 to reflect rising costs of treatment and delivery. The monthly minimum water rate will increase to $14.94, compared to a minimum water rate of $14.50 in 2018. The new rates will be reflected on customers’ January 31, 2019, utility bills.
