Milliken Elementary School had a parent come in and ask for the total amount owed by all students & staff for meals. This is at least the 5th year she has come in to do this around Christmas time. This generous woman wrote a check for $2669.78 and handed it to the kitchen. Yesterday, all the students had their lunch accounts updated to reflect this payment! PLUS she left this note!

THANK YOU, Banner Health!

Prior to the Christmas Break, our NJHS student leaders heard about a need at Milliken Middle School when our Health Office staff asked if anyone had a wheelchair that could be donated. After about a week of waiting, our NJHS student leaders rose up and voted to buy and donate the wheel chair to meet the needs of our school campus.

After some thought and consideration, a few student leaders took initiative and requested a donation from several health and medical organizations. Our contact Sara, a PR Director at Banner Health in Greeley, put wheels in motion and had her organization buy and donate a new wheelchair to our campus and delivered it today with the help of ambulance service supervisor, Darin.

The NJHS student leaders and our own Youth Prayer Warriors made Appreciation Posters and wrote Thank You notes to our Banner Health partners in this endeavor!

Global Teen Leadership | YMCA of Boulder Valley

FOR NORTHERN COLORADO TEENS: A Life-Changing Teen Service Adventure!
The YMCA Global Teen Leadership Program is an experience that will challenge perceptions, give teens a global perspective and move them to become an impact-driven leader. After a series of leadership training workshops and service learning projects in their own community, participants will venture to Peru June 27-July 11. There, participants will work with children in an orphanage and after-school sites. They will work on a small construction project in an incredibly impoverished area of Peru. They will connect with people and children who live completely different lives from their own. They will dance, they will eat and they will see one of the seven wonders of the world, Macchu Picchu.

They will leave changed, moved and challenged.

We invite 11th and 12th graders and newly graduated high school students to apply for the this life-changing program. Applications for the YMCA Global Teen Leadership Program are due Feb 1.
